Lingkoya was born and raised in West Chester PA. Lingy obtained her nickname after her aunt had difficulty pronouncing her name one of her aunts dropped the Koya and began calling her Lingy. The name stuck. Early on Lingy had a passion for music and was vastly influenced by Mariah Carey, Selena and Michael Jackson. Anthony noticed Lingy's vocal ability and began to take her along to sing background vocals for his band. Later on he pushed her to learn some songs and made her sing them at the neighborhood bar. Although under age Lingy won the karaoke night, which ignited a love for the talent. In 2002 she moved to Atlanta GA for college.
After dabbling in many things from dance to fashion, singing always happened to be a passion that was untouched. Singing amongst her friends was always on the agenda. One day Lingy sang a song for a friend who also had ventured off in the singing world. A few years later this friend who goes by Mia Darjde asked Lingy to take her place in the touring cover band. To date Lingy has been on the road covering hits from the great Whitney Houston to Journey. She has been singing with cover bands such as Funk Factory & BATA (B and the aristocats). Currently residing in Atlanta GA Lingy continues to hit the stage with high energy and fun.
