In spite of the plethora of rap artists who may be emerging from the south: J.J. Davis is standing out the most. Hailing from Duncan, South Carolina- J.J. has a unique style where he fuses Hip-Hop and Soul all with his voice and his guitar. His borderline eccentricity and artistic mind is no way near the stereotypical and conventional Dirty South music, but is all the way "southern soul." J.J. has been compared to OutKast, B.o.B, and Darius Rucker from Hootie and the Blowfish. J.J.'s influences extend from Morris Day and The Time, Prince, The Boston Orchestra, to John Mayer and Drake.
J.J. discovered his talent and interest in playing the guitar while in college; and after hearing a song by Fergie was inspired to play the guitar on a serious level. It has been almost two years and J.J. is traveling up and down the Carolinas to spread his music of life, love, and having a good time.
